Libyan Desert Glass is a rare purity silica tektite found in the Eastern Sahara, primarily across western Egypt and Eastern Libya. Formed roughly 26 million years ago, it is believed to have been creative by a massive meteorite impact that fused desert sand. Known for its honey-yellow colour, it was used by ancient Egyptians for jewellery. Libyan Desert Glass was used notably in King Tutankhamen’s pectoral jewellery.
